Siren Sisters Collective

With her selection, SIREN SISTERS aka Anja Winnes focuse on mystical wake-up tunes with a strong message of love & unity – from the finest roots and the heaviest steppers to sweet unreleased material and rare dubplates. Often, she is accompanied by MC Treasure Irie, Sista Sherin or Sista Kaya on the mic. Since 2008, Siren Sisters have been organizing regular sessions at Sunny Red / Feierwerk, Munich – often inviting sound systems like DubRise or Jah Chalice and guests from all over Germany and abroad. Her events are a platform for upcoming artists and veterans alike with a special focus on female artists.

Siren Sisters are also part of Kulturimpuls e.V., a non-profit association organizing the Rootsbase on Fusion Festival, Rootsbase Festival and events like Dubimpuls in Freising. Anja contributes regularly to the German RIDDIM magazine with articles about sound system culture. In 2019, she found the female sound collective LIONESS AWAKE.

SISTA SHERIN is one of Germany’s renowned female roots singers with several releases on various labels. The trained singer writes her own lyrics and often accompanies Siren Sisters at sessions at home and while travelling. Over the years, she supported various sound systems like Dandelion, Jah Vibes and Jah Roots HiFi at live shows. Her releases include the complete album „Guiding Star“ (Art’Ital) as well as songs on Jah Free Music, Murray Man’s Mellow Vibes, Jah Vibes‘ Debtera Records, Jah Roots HiFi and Dandelion’s label New Flower Records. She lives in Freiburg in the south of Germany.

SISTA KAYA is a trained sound engineer und vocalist living in the mountainside of Oberammergau in the south of Germany. Her works include recordings for Dandelion’s label New Flower Records and Debtera records as well as for the Ras Kush’s label Black Redemption. She provided various artists with her studio work. She also performed at the French Dub Camp twice.

MC TREASURE IRIE’s lyrics revolve around social criticism, politricks and the controversies of life. He is originally from Ecuador and can now look back on more than 20 years of stage career. The word acrobat started with a hip-hop band in his hometown Memmingen. After various reggae bands and sound projects in Dub, HipHop & Drum’n’Bass, Treasure Irie has been on the mic with Siren Sisters for over 10 years now as well as with Dandelion Soundsystem and the Munich Drum’n’Bass Crew Eisbach Callin. He writes his texts in English, the Jamaican Slang Patois and also in German and provides Siren Sisters‘ sets with samples and effects. He resides in Freising near Munich.
